About          Methods & tools          Experiences           Wild manifesto

Hello,

I am a design researcher.

I question the present to craft the future.

I make research, research design, design research,

think design, and co-design.

Still sounding vague?

In Brief,

I inform, inspire and orient the design process by:

understanding how and why people do something,
reflecting why and how it could change,
crafting changes with people, a common intent (why) and plan (how).

These people are users, non-users, clients, collaborators, stakeholders, or any other co-designers, be them scientists, artists, bankers or farmers.

In theory,

My role would be situated...

design is to design the design of a design

1

a general concept,

policy

2

an activity

3

a plan or intention

4

a finished outcome,a product

In practice,
There is no ultimate theory.

Innovative projects often require unreplicable methods, tools and process.

Depending on the request, I mainly investigate market, ethnographic, scientific, historic, visual, material, user and future research. I define, plan and execute research. Collect, analyse and synthetise datas. Communicate and translate insights. Craft innovation and facilitate design.

I strongly value quantitative datas, although I've mostly use qualitative methods and tools to understand people, their context, values, needs, inspirations and aspirations.

Concretely, I develop and produce various preliminary, intermediary and final research outcomes such as: conversation guide and transcription, field multimedia documentation, focus group activity tools, surveys, literature review, expert in-depth interviews, secondary research report, cultural probes, usability studies, a/b testing, persona, journey maps, affinity maps, semiotic analysis, informative documentary, trend forecast, design principles, strategic recommendations, prospective scenarios in video/comic strips/(...)/novel, speculative design concept, mood boards, design workshops, and so on.

In reality,

I've worked and studied in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. I graduated from a master in Industrial design in 2015 and have had various working experiences since then.

Lazerinni is a glass fiber manufacturing company. They fabricate unique models on request and small scale industrial series. Mainly producing bathrooms, they hire external engineers or similar profiles to develop their catalog.

We developed a "cupboard-size" nomadic bathroom for a health organisation. Challenges as  transportability, installation and maintenance, small space ergonomy, cost, and disable-friendliness were our main concerns.
